At CidHosting.Net, we truly value all of our clients and appreciate the relationships and bonds we have with all of you. We are launching these new offerings as part of celebrating our 6th year in providing reliable and quality services.Having said that, we've outlined major elements of our year long quest for hosting excellence.
New Datacenter:
We moved to a new datacenter suite that was newly built from the ground up. From the UPS, to the HVAC, to the rack installations, everything. The new datacenter was built it with the future in mind, where we have 10G equipment as well as 10G ethernet cables run to each rack, in the event we need to upgrade a rackat any time. We have true economies of scale, and this is where you benefit. We're able to offer many more features and product upgrades as a result of the new datacenter. We have additional carriers, stronger servers, and more.
Plan Upgrades:
If you haven't already seen, we have upgraded our plans. For you all, this is where the new datacenter really is a huge benefit. The ability to grow is limitless. Over the course of the next week, you will be upgraded automatically to the plans you see on our regular hosting plans.
New Bandwidth Providers:
We believe our network is unparalleled in its quality. We have added 3 additional carriers since our last post on a carrier addition. The providers we have added are Internap, Level3, and PCCW. Each carrier was selected to bring a unique quality to CidHosting.Net clients. Level3 probably is the most well known carrier and the presence is global. Level3 is a world class provider who has a proven track record and amazing global network presence. Level3 is great for our UK clients. Internap is a provider we added because they have all the Tier 1 providers in their mix. They are very well known for being the most premium Tier 2 provider. PCCW is one that we have been very happy with, because they are primarily an Asian carrier. This is great for all those clients in Asia, who via PCCW get to our network faster.
As a result of adding these carriers into our mix, our cost has gone up a lot, but we're happy to have the highest levels of redundancy in our network via our network providers. Having large contracts with these carriers also allows us to offer bandwidth cheaper to all of you. That is why we have upgraded all the bandwidth on ALL of our hosting plans.
FCP Route Optimization:
We are part of only a handful of select providers to offer this feature to all of you. We have a special routing device which is able to see network issues all over the world, and route around them. What this means to you is if there is a fiber cut in say Dallas, TX our Route Optimization device would see this, and route all clients around that Dallas problem. Even though our datacenter is in Los Angeles, this amazing device is able to see problems to any route we go through. This helps us achieve our 100% network SLA. This device also has the ability to route you via the fastest provider in terms of latency. Your typical datacenter would just route you via the lowest number of AS hops, even though you might have a router that is down or heavily overloaded. This device sees that problem too, and routes you to the fastest provider, which is a huge benefit to all of you.
Green Technologies:
Being green and having a datacenter are typically mutually exclusive. Howerver, we do our part to preserve our environment and that is why we transfered our new datacenter. All of our new servers feature low voltage CPUs, high efficiency power supplies, and green disk drives (for backups). This translates to less heat produced from the servers, which means less cooling, which means less electricity being used, and that is the benefit to the environment.
