How to Install WordPress on Your Hosting Account

Most Cid Hosting shared and reseller plans can run WordPress. cPanel may show either the Softaculous Apps Installer or the WordPress Toolkit. Use whichever icon is on the account — the steps are the same idea, with slightly different labels.

Which installer is on this account?

  • Softaculous — cPanel → Softaculous Apps Installer → WordPress → Install. After install, manage from Softaculous (installations list, login, backups).
  • WordPress Toolkit — cPanel → WordPress Manager or WordPress Toolkit. Use Install WordPress, then manage sites from the toolkit list (login, updates, backups, security checks).

If you only see one of them, follow that path. Do not install WordPress twice on the same domain.

Before you install

  • Decide the domain or subdomain (for example yourdomain.com or blog.yourdomain.com).
  • If the domain is new, wait until it points to this hosting account so the installer can finish cleanly.
  • Have a strong admin password ready — do not reuse your cPanel password.

Install with the cPanel installer

  1. Log in to cPanel from clients.cidhosting.net.
  2. Open the WordPress / Softaculous (or WordPress Toolkit) icon.
  3. Choose Install.
  4. Select the domain, leave the directory blank for the site root (or enter a folder name for a subdirectory install).
  5. Set the site name, admin username, admin password and admin email.
  6. Review options (language, plugins if offered) and start the install.

When it finishes, you get the site URL and the /wp-admin login URL. Bookmark both.

After install

  • Log in to https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin and complete any on-screen prompts.
  • Install an SSL certificate if HTTPS is not already active (AutoSSL is available on typical shared/reseller plans — use cPanel SSL tools or open a ticket if the lock icon is missing).
  • Take a backup before you start customising (see the backups overview).

Manual install (advanced)

You can also upload WordPress via File Manager or FTP and create a MySQL database in cPanel. Prefer the installer unless you have a reason to do it by hand.

If the installer errors on database creation or domain selection, note the exact message and open a ticket — include the domain, not your passwords.
