Your hosting plan and your domains renew when the renewal invoice is paid. This guide shows where to find that invoice, how to pay it, how to renew early, and where to check your renewal dates.
Step 1: Log in to your client area
Everything in this guide starts in your client area, which has its own login (separate from cPanel and webmail).
- Go to cidhosting.net and click Client Login at the top right of the page. On a phone, it's in the bar at the very top of the page (not inside the menu button). You can also open the direct link: clients.cidhosting.net/index.php/login.
- Under Email Address, enter the email address where you receive our invoices and renewal notices. Enter your Password, then click Login.
- Don't remember your password? Click Forgot Password?, enter your email address and click Submit. We'll email you a reset link.
- Once you're logged in, you'll see your client area home page with shortcuts to your Services, Domains, Tickets and Invoices.
How renewal invoices work
- We create a renewal invoice for each hosting plan and domain ahead of its due date and email it to you.
- If it's still unpaid as the due date gets close, we send a reminder, followed by overdue notices if the due date passes.
- For domains, we also send renewal notices in the weeks before the expiry date.
- In the client area, invoices are listed under Billing > My Invoices. On the invoice itself the number is shown as Statement #, so invoice #1234 appears as Statement #1234.
Pay a renewal invoice
- Log in to your client area (see Step 1).
- Go to Billing > My Invoices.
- Click the invoice marked Unpaid (or click View Invoice).
- Under Payment Method, choose PayPal, Credit/Debit Card or Bank Deposit.
- Click Pay Now (or the PayPal button) and follow the steps. For Bank Deposit, use the bank details and the Reference Number shown on the invoice.
If you already have a renewal invoice, pay that one rather than starting a new renewal order, so you aren't billed twice.
Renew a domain early
You can renew a domain registered with us before its renewal invoice arrives.
- Log in and go to Domains > Renew Domains. You can also go to Domains > My Domains, open the menu next to a domain and click Renew.
- Pick how many Year/s to renew for and click Add to Cart.
- Click Checkout, choose your payment method and click Complete Order.
- Pay the invoice that's created, using the steps above.
If a domain shows Domain Renewal Unavailable or a Maximum Advance Renewal message, it can't be renewed further ahead right now. Open a ticket and we'll check it for you.
Renew a hosting plan early
- Log in and go to Services > Renew Services.
- Find your plan, check the Renewal Period and click Add to Cart.
- Click Checkout, then pay the invoice.
If your plan isn't listed there, or it says it already has an unpaid invoice, just pay that invoice from Billing > My Invoices.
Check your renewal dates
| Where to look | Column | |
|---|---|---|
| Hosting | Services > My Services | Next Due Date |
| Domains | Domains > My Domains | Next Due |
Open a domain from My Domains to see its Expiry Date.
What happens after payment
- The invoice changes to Paid.
- For hosting, the next due date moves forward by your billing period and your site and email carry on as normal.
- For domains, we renew the domain with the registry once your payment is confirmed. You don't need to do anything else.
- PayPal and card payments are confirmed straight away. Bank deposits are marked paid once we've confirmed the deposit, so allow a little extra time if your due date is close.
What if a renewal lapses?
- Hosting: if a renewal invoice stays unpaid after the due date, the hosting account may be suspended, and your website and email stop working. Pay the invoice and we'll reactivate the account.
- Domains: when a domain expires, the website and email that use it stop working. Some extensions (such as .com, .net and .org) can still be renewed for a while after expiry, though restoring a domain late can cost an extra fee. You'll see a Grace Fee or Redemption Fee on the Renew Domains page when one applies. Other extensions, including .ph and .com.ph, have no grace period.
- The safest option is to pay before the due date.
