Reseller hosting in the Philippines: what's managed for you vs. what you handle

If you build or look after websites for clients, a reseller plan lets you host them all under one account, with each client in their own cPanel. It helps to know early who looks after what, so nothing falls through the cracks when a client gets in touch.

What Cid Hosting looks after

  • The server and hosting platform your reseller account runs on
  • Server software and routine server administration
  • Platform and server-level issues, the kind that affect the hosting itself rather than one website
  • Hosting-related questions you escalate to us through a ticket

What you handle

  • Your clients: the relationship, their billing and their agreements with you
  • Creating and managing each client’s cPanel account in WHM, and setting up your own hosting packages
  • First-line support for your clients
  • Anything inside the websites: content, code, CMS plugins and themes, passwords and users
  • Your own backups of important client sites (see How to Back Up Your Hosting Account)

What every reseller plan includes

  • WHM for you, and cPanel for each client account you create
  • A total disk space and monthly bandwidth allowance, shared across your client accounts
  • No setup fee
  • Accounts typically ready within 4–8 hours after payment confirmation
  • Support through email and our ticket system. We aim to attend to requests within eight hours; how long a fix takes depends on the issue.

Current plans and VAT-inclusive prices are on the reseller hosting page.

Good to know before you order

  • Reseller accounts don’t include root or command-line (SSH) access. If you need that level of control, a VPS or dedicated server is the better fit.
  • Bulk or mass email isn’t permitted.
  • If you’d like branded nameservers or a customised control-panel look for your clients, ask us before ordering and we’ll confirm what’s available for your plan.
  • RAID on a server isn’t the same as a backup. Keep independent copies of important client sites and data. There’s more on this on our business continuity page.

When a client reports a problem

  1. Start with the site itself: a recent plugin or theme update, a changed password, a full mailbox.
  2. If it looks like the server or platform, open a ticket. Include the cPanel account name, the domain, what your client saw (a screenshot or the exact error helps) and what you’ve already tried.
  3. We work on the hosting side with you in the same ticket, so you have a written record to refer back to with your client.

Moving client accounts from another host

We can assist when the required hosting or control-panel access is available. We look at the setup first and tell you what’s involved before anything is moved. Please don’t send passwords by email; we’ll arrange access through a ticket. More on how a move works is on the website migration page.

Not sure a reseller plan is the right fit? Open a ticket or send us a note with roughly how many sites you look after, and we’ll talk it through.
