How to Backup a Database in cPanel

Download a copy of a MySQL database from cPanel when you want your own backup before a big change, or to keep an offline copy.

Backup Wizard / partial backup

  1. Log in to cPanel from clients.cidhosting.net.
  2. Files → Backup (or Backup Wizard).
  3. Under Partial Backups / Download a MySQL Database Backup, click the database name.
  4. Save the .sql file to your computer.

phpMyAdmin export (optional)

  1. Databases → phpMyAdmin.
  2. Select the database on the left.
  3. Export → Quick or Custom → Go, and save the file.

Tip: For a full account backup (files + databases + email), see How to Back Up Your Hosting Account. Keep your own copies — no single backup should be the only copy of important data.
