How to Create an FTP Account in cPanel

Create an FTP account when a designer or tool needs file access without your full cPanel login.

Create the account

  1. Log in to cPanel from clients.cidhosting.net (or https://yourdomain.com/cpanel).
  2. Files → FTP Accounts.
  3. Enter a login name and a strong password.
  4. Set Directory — for the main site use public_html. The account only sees that folder and below.
  5. Click Create FTP Account.
