How to Reset an Email Password in cPanel

Reset a mailbox password in cPanel when someone forgot it or you need to revoke access.

Steps

  1. Log in to cPanel from clients.cidhosting.net.
  2. Email → Email Accounts.
  3. Click Manage next to the address.
  4. Under Security, set a new strong password (use Generate if helpful).
  5. Click Update Email Settings.

After you change it

  • Update Outlook, Apple Mail, phones, and any app that sends mail as that address.
  • Until every device is updated, those apps will keep asking for the password or fail to send.
  • Do not reuse your cPanel or client-area password for mailboxes.

You can also change a password while signed into webmail — see How to Use Webmail and Change Your Email Password.

Need a hand? clients.cidhosting.net/submitticket.php — never send passwords in tickets.
