How to Fix a 550 Sender Verify Failed Error

A “550 Sender Verify Failed” (or similar) bounce means the receiving server could not verify the sender address. Common causes: wrong From address, DNS/mail not fully set up, or the mailbox does not exist.

What to check

  1. Confirm you are sending as an address that exists on your domain (created in Email Accounts).
  2. Use the mailbox password and full address for SMTP authentication.
  3. Make sure the domain’s mail is pointed at Cid Hosting (MX) if you expect to send from our servers.
  4. Try sending from Roundcube webmail. If webmail works but an app fails, the app settings need a fix.

Still bouncing? Open a ticket at clients.cidhosting.net/submitticket.php with the full bounce message (no passwords).
